Abstract

7004. Eastwick, J. March 19. [Cognate Application, 14,383/14.] [Addition to 14,016/13.] B r c e c h actions, sliding barrel and breech-block.-Consists in modifications of the breech cover and of the closing-springs, in the inertiaweight automatic gun described in the parent Specification. In the first construction, the cover d is in one piece and is hinged at the rear to a part c of the frame. The cover is held down by spring catches e, Fig. 5, mounted on the side bars a of the frame. The catches on each side are mounted on a single spindle and all are controlled by a single spring h, Fig. 7, mounted within the rear hinge. The closing-springs n are mounted within this cover and are made telescopic as shown in Fig. 3. In the second construction, the cover d, Fig. 12, is made in two parts hinged at the side to the frame and held together by catches q, r controlled by a single spring s. A spring h, Fig. 13, tends to open the cover.
