9768. Baker, W. April 25. Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Relates to the barrel locking means, and to the arrangement of the lumps, of guns having superposed barrels. The barrels are provided with side bars a arranged at a level between the barrels and projecting behind the barrels. The extended part of each bar has a notch d for engagement by the locking-bolt and a downward lug e adapted to fit into a recess in the action body. The lumps n are arranged side by side as far apart as possible, and have recesses at the front for engagement by the hinge-pin. The top firing-pin r passes through the spindle i of the top lever as described in Specification 6223/10.
