Abstract

4914. Mounter, P. M. A. Feb. 26, 1913, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Addition to 1419/14. Spray carburettors.-In the carburettor desscribed in the parent Specification, a cone 25 with milled edge 27 is screwed over the outer tube 6 of the nozzle, and is adjusted to vary the air passage 26. In a modification, the cone 25 is fixed and the choke-tube 23 is adjustable. Air channels in the fixed cone 25 facilitate spraying and mixing. The nozzle has an adjustable plug 10 as described in the parent Specification, but modifications are described in which the plug is replaced by conical depressions, and in one construction several fuel conduits are employed. In each case, the top of the nozzle is provided with gauze 34, to break up the fuel, and this action is further effected by a gauze sheet 35. The throttle wings or flaps 17 may be replaced by two cylindrical quadrants 30, Fig. 3, geared together and provided with a tapering groove 31.
