Abstract
1227. Lucas, H., and Turner, W. C. Jan. 16. Turning-gear.-A pinion c for connecting an electric turning motor to the fly-wheel d of an engine is moved axially by a solenoid having two windings, one g of high resistance and in series with the motor, and the other h in shunt or in soies with the motor. The first winding is used to draw the pinion into engagement, and the second winding holds it in the engaged position. A oneway clutch is used with the pinion.
