Abstract

28,218. Watson, H. B., and Billetop, T. C. Dec. 8. Multi-stage centrifugal pumps specially applicable for pumping hot feed-water are constructed with impeller and casing passages with no re-entrant spaces or pockets wherein vapour can be trapped. The invention is described as applied to a pump of the kind described in Specification 1639/12. The casing is formed with a bifurcated inlet i1, i2, a central discharge o, and inter-stage passages D, F, H. The impeller comprises five parts E, G, J mounted upon a common shaft B.
