Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-A pneumatic wheel is characterized by a non - circular cushion 24, Fig. 8, of oblong or elliptical form which can be readily removed. The cushion is carried by a drum 16 having a sleeve 8 on the axle-box and an integral flange 20. A detachable flanged plate 18 is secured to the other side by bolts 53. The outer hub member 34 has a detachable side plate 44. The cushion has diametrically-opposite indentations 26 which engage projections on the outer hub. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also a form in which a similar cushion is arranged between inner and outer rims, one of which has fixed and detachable side plates. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
