Hunting gear; reversing-valves.-In the hunting gear and valve arrangement shown in Figs. 2, 3, and 4, and described as applied to the starting-engine of a locomotive, the handcontrolled disk 28 has two inlet ports 38, 39, an exhaust port 41, and a balancing-aperture 43, and can be set to close both ports 36, 37 in the disk 29 connected to the piston of the starting- engine. The ports 36, 37 register with chambers 31, 30 in communication with the ends of the starting-engine cylinder. An exhaust chamber 32, 33 is arranged between the chambers 31, 30. The inlet and exhaust pipes are shown at 23, 25. Modifications are described comprising concentric rotary sleeves and concentric cylindrical slide valves.
