Abstract

22,394. Morris, D. K., Morris & Lister, and Cateaux, J. L. Oct. 4. Transformers for use as " buzzers " &c, have a subsidiary magnetic circuit consisting of a bent iron pole-piece e placed between the primary windings c and the secondary windings d. The core of the transformer consists of a ring b and a diametrical part a upon which the primary is wound. The tips of the polepiece e are adjacent to a flexible iron diaphragm f, or to an iron armature on a disk. The subsidiary flux is only set up when the secondary circuit is closed. The pole-piece c may be laminated, and may be of horseshoe or other shape to encircle the secondary winding, in which case its opposed ends will give the required sound.
