Abstract

18,663. British Thomson-Houston Co., [General Electric Co.]. Aug. 16. Transformers.-A transformer is provided with a spirally-wound member forming a magnetic shunt and located between the primary and secondary windings. As shown, this member is made up of a flat strip of iron 4 suitably insulated and wound in the form of a spiral directly on the secondary winding 3 and between the primary winding 2 and the secondary. One end is connected to the core at 5. The strip also acts as an electric shield.
