Abstract

Force-feed Lubricators.- In a lubricator for internal-combustion engines of motor-cycles &c., the normal oil supply passes through an adjustable valve, and additional oil can be forced through a spring-loaded valve without disturbing the adjustable valve. A tank b supports a force-pump a and a drip-feed device k, n, communicating by a pipe m with the crank chamber of the engine. Normal lubrication is effected by suction or pressure, the oil passing from the pump barrel a through pipes f, e to a chamber d, and thence past an adjustable valve p to the drip-feed pipe k. When the pump is operated to supply additional oil to the crank chamber, the oil from the chamber d forces its way past a spring-loaded valve i to the pipe k. The valve i is mounted in a hollow screwed plug g perforated at h. A group of lubricators may be assembled together and operated in conjunction with one force pump.
