Abstract

20,016. Erikson, H. Sept. 4. Sterilizing beer &c.-In apparatus for pasteurizing beer, wine, aerated waters, &c. comprising a vessel 1 fitted with a bottom cover 3, which carries a coil 17, and surrounded bv a jacket 4, steam and cold water &c. are supplied in succession to the coil and jacket from a pipe 14, and exhaust through a pipe 18. The vessel 1 may be of galvanized iron and glazed inside, and is supported by a perforated flange 7 and spaced by bolts 9. The apparatus can be rocked or tilted upon pins 11. The beer &c. is supplied and discharged through a pipe 13. A pipe 37 communicates with a vent pipe discharging under water, a pipe 21 for admitting carbon dioxide &c. to force out the beer &c., a gauge 26, a pressure gauge 20, and a safety-valve 24.
