Abstract
19,340. BÚchaux, L. Oct. 29. Brewing; wine; beverages, fermenting.-Relates to the vessels in which the fermentation of wine, beer, and other liquids is effected, and consists in providing them with an attachment, Fig. 6, which communicates with the lower part of the vat and serves to collect substances which fall to the bottom of the liquid, and by removing them from contact with the main body of the liquid prevents the latter from acquiring a disagreeable taste from them. The attachment, Fig. 6, consists of a vessel C provided with two main cocks D, E and two small cocks I, J, the latter of which regulate the flow to a gauge H, which is also provided with two cocks K, L. Fig. 2 shows the appliance C applied to an inclined vat 0, provided with a cover Q in which is an opening R for the escape of carbonic acid, but its application to upright vats and tuns and to other forms of inclined tuns is also described.
