Abstract

Plates, securing tubes to; joints for concentric pipes; joints, breaking.-In steam-generator water-tubes of the kind having inner circulation tubes, the outer tube a and inner tube e are assembled with conical metal-to-metal joints, without screw-threads directly exposed to steam or water. The tubes a make conical joints with the walls of the header b in known manner and are held by a member n secured by a cap nut o screwed on to a rod p secured to the header. The inner tube e makes a conical joint with the tube a at e<1>, and is secured by a rivet g to a cap h which closes the tube a and is held by a screwed rod j, working through a member i. The member i has a bayonet-type connexion with internal flanges on the tube a, and is prevented from accidental movement by arms on the member n projecting through openings in the member i. Flanges m on the member h and the flanges on the tube a facilitate removal of the tubes by providing a purchase for the tube-extracting tool.
