457. Prince, M. P., and Bernheimer, C. M. Jan. 15, 1912, [Convention date]. Jackets and covers; air tubes and chambers. -In tyres comprising a number of air-chambers enclosed in separately-detachable cover sections, the ends of the cover sections 6 are made of softer or more resilient material than the intermediate parts, and may have interlocking projections and recesses 11, 12. The sections may he moulded with less circumferential curvature than they take up on inflation of the airchambers, and their central tread parts 17 may be thicker than the end parts. The sections arc open on the inner side, and one edge may have an internal flap 10 overlapping the other edge. Tyre attachments to rims.-The cover sections have beaded edges which engage with a continuous flange 4 on one side of the rim and a flange divided into sections 13 of the same length as the cover sections and secured to the rims by radial bolts 14 on the other side.
