Starting.-A twostrokecycle engine of the type in which two oppositely acting pistons connected to cranks 180 degrees apart are simultaneously given impulses in opposite directions by explosion in a common combustion chamber, has a valve 70 controlling the passage from a compressed air supply, so that the engine may be started in either direction.
