Abstract

26,668. Holmes, W. H. Nov. 20. Impulse and reaction meters.-A measuring- faucet fitted with a hand-controlled valve 4 comprises a casing 2 divided by a wall 7 into two parts, one part housing an impulse wheel 10, the other part housing the counting- mechanism, which comprises a series of internally - toothed index rings 21, 23, 24 indicating pints, quarts, and gallons respectively, each ring being directly driven at a different speed by a pinion 13 on the spindle 11 of the wheel 10. The pinion 13 gears with a pinion 14 on a countershaft 15, which also carries a pinion 17 meshing with a gear 18 loose on the spindle 11. The gear 18 meshes with a pinion 19 secured to a shaft 20 which also carries pinions 22, 25. The pinions 19, 22, 25 mesh respectively with the internally-toothed rings 21, 23, 24.
