Folding boxes; lids and covers; fittings, external; materials, special, for boxes.-A folding box or enclosure for transporting food-stuffs &c., of the kind having the four vertical sides hinged together at the corners, is provided with top and bottom members B, A bevelled to fit outside, as shown, or inside bevelled edges formed on the vertical sides, the whole being secured by stay-rope and eye-bolt devices which permit of slinging the box. In use, the member B is suspended and the goods are hung on hooks E. The loaded member B is then lowered on to the erected box and is secured by the stay-rope devices. A door may be provided in one of the sides, and the box may contain a refrigerating or cooling device. The box is made of layers of two or more non-conducting materials, such as sheet or granulated cork, silicate cotton, rubber, wood, &c.
