521,529. Containers for tin plate &c. McILWRAITH, J. W., POST, T. C., and ASSOCIATED BOX CORPORATION. Feb. 14, 1939, No. 4853. [Class 18] A moisture-proof shipping container particularly adapted for tin-plate consists of side and end rails 10, 11, Figs. 1 and 2, a bottom 12 and a top with the joints at 17 and 26 sealed by a semi-plastic moisture and shock-proof medium such as latex which is squeezed into the interior of the box at 21. The space A is also filled with the sealing medium. The corner joints may also be of mitre form, nailed through with corrugated plates, the ridge 15 then extending completely round the periphery. The rails may also be joined by dovetail or wedge formations, or by analogous square formations. A seal closure is illustrated in Fig. 11 the various dispositions of the grooves 717a and 717b may be adopted. Various arrangements of such grooves in the corner joints may also be adopted.
