Bulbs; caps.-A lamp is enclosed in a globe B by securing the lampcap E by means of heat-insulating material in an outer sleeve C, adapted to fit a lampholder, the globe B being cemented in the sleeve. In the arrangement shown, a ring D of fibre, compressed asbestos, or other heatinsulating material, surrounded by cotton or other heat - insulating packing b, within the sleeve C, is adapted to grip the cap E, covered by a cotton or like collar. The globe B is provided with projections such as square pyramids a, or longitudinal ribs, formed bv blowing in a mould to make the walls of uniform thickness, and with ventilating-holes o; it may be of ovoidal, spherical, pear, or other form, and of white or coloured frosted glass.
