Coiled - tube superheaters. - A superheater fitted in the combustion chamber of a boiler of the marine type consists of a number of coiled tubes connected at their ends to headers. Single or double helical coils h in the combustion chamber m are separately connected by connexions g, passing through hollow stays p to steam distributing and collecting headers e, k. The connexions g may be provided with cut-out cocks. To prevent the superheater from being subjected to excessive heat, the front part of the combustion chamber may be recessed to receive the superheater.
