Abstract
2881. Southall Bros. & Barclay, and Roy, C. S. Feb. 5. Glycerophosphates are prepared by mixing the calcium, barium, strontium, magnesium, potassium, lithium, iron, and manganese oxides. hydroxides, carbonates, or phosphates, or aluminium or mercury oxides or phosphates, with phosphoric acid and heating the mixture with excess of glycerine under reduced pressure to temperatures varying from 140‹ to 220‹ C. Acid or neutral salts may be isolated. For the production of neutral salts, the mass is treated with excess of the oxide, hydroxide, or carbonate of the metal initially used or of another metal, mixed salts in the latter case resulting.
