498. Crosbie, S. Jan. 6. Spray burners.-A liquid-fuel burner H for furnaces is supplied with air through a valve G and with fuel through a pipe D provided with a nozzle S. Mixing of the air and fuel is effected by a fan F driven by a steam-engine L through pulleys M, N, a sleeve B, and torsion rods E. The engine L is supplied with steam from a reservoir K connected by pipes Q with the water-jacket of the tuyere R. Water is supplied to the reservoir through a pipe P.
