Abstract
27,430. Smith, W. T. Dec. 7. Rollers and roller heads.-In ring or flyer spinning-frames, two or more lines of gapped rollers E, E', F, Fl are mounted below the delivery rollers or drawing-rollers, preferably arranged as described in Specifications 11,967/11 and 27,429/11, and are arranged to allow the twist to pass alternately through the gaps in each line of rollers. The gapped rollers are driven from the bottom front delivery roller, and are mounted in brackets G on the frame H. The top rollers are supported by similar brackets G<1> and spring-caps g, arranged so that the ends of the rollers are left free for piecing. An ordinary clearer roller K may be used. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the top rollers are preferably " loose boss " rollers secured to the spindles by a sunk washer and set-screw.
