Abstract

146,415. Wey, J. A. Aug. 3, 1917, [Convention date]. Roller heads; tension arrangements.-The feeding and middle rollers of spinning frames are replaced by three conical worms which mesh with each other and are rotated in the same direction so as to feed the roving to a point 6 in close proximity to the nip of the drawing-rollers. One of the worms is driven from a shaft 15 by wormgearing and drives the others by intermediate gears 11.
