4510. Whyte, J. D. March 23. Doubling and twisting machines with twisting- arrangements at delivery.-Comprises improvements on the invention described in Specification 24,407/08. To economize space &c., the spindles g for receiving the cabled yarn are mounted on a separate rail f, which is reciprocated vertically in the required manner for winding-on. The doubled two-fold threads are drawn from bobbins enclosed in tubes a, such as are described in Specifications 16,897/10 and 1605/14, passed over a guide-bar, through delivery rollers c and the drop-wire of a stop-motion, over a guideroller o, and between a pair of loose guide-rollers n, n<1>, to a ring flyer j, by which the two-fold threads are combined, twisted together, and wound on to the bobbin h, which is dragged for winding-on. The ring flyer j is mounted in a fixed rail m, is provided with a corresponding idle ring k, and is driven from a tin roller m' by a band which also drives the corresponding ring flyer on the opposite side of the machine, the tin roller m<1> being driven through changegearing from the tin roller e which drives the delivery spindles. Between the guide-rollers o and n, n<1>, the two-fold threads may be passed through a water trough o<2>. Specification 12,070/10 also is referred to.
