Abstract

262,028. Berlinerblau, J. Sept. 21, 1925. Spindle-driving apparatus. - The motors 3 of independently electrically-driven spindles of spinning-machines are arranged alternately at different heights, so that use may be made of motors of greater diameter than the pitch of the spindles. The motors are three-phase or other polyphase, with short-circuited rotors for any desired low tension with variable frequency. The invention may be used in ring or flyer frames and is particularly applicable for the spinning of hemp, flax, jute, or other hard or coarse fibres. The casings are secured to the machine frame by clips 12, or the lower end of the spindle is provided with a removable case-hardened pin 9 supported by a ball 10 and with a lateral ball bearing 15, the spindle being adjustable by a screw 18 and the upper end of the casing secured to the machine frame by a screwed bush.
