Endless-track vehicles.-In tractors in which the ordinary method of propulsion by wheels is combined with haulage by endless chains 16 provided with flat steel pallets for engaging the ground, the endless chain wheels are mounted on a frame 20 capable of pivoting around the driving- shaft 11 so that the pallets may be raised clear of the ground. An auxiliary pinion 17 carried by the frame 20 is used to adjust the tension of the chain. The endless chains may be protected by bands of flexible leather, india-rubber, &c.
