Slipping, preventing, attachments to wheels for; wheels with portable tracks.-Bands c of steel wire rope, leather, balata, canvas, or other flexible material pass round the driving-wheels a of the vehicle and round road guide-wheels b, so that the bands are in contact with the road between the wheels to prevent slipping. The bands, which engage in grooves lined with metal &c., project beyond the tyres of the wheels. The guide-wheels b are supported by brackets d, which can be moved by screwed rods e so as to adjust the tension of the bands. In another form, the guide-wheels are supported from the axles of the driving-wheels by jointed screwed rods which can be adjusted to tighten the bands. According to the Provisional Specification, two guide-wheels may be used with each driving-wheel, and more than one band may be used with each driving-wheel.
