139,700. Caterpillar Tractors, Ltd., (Holt Manufacturing Co.). May 28, 1919. Endless-track vehicles.-An endless-track attachment for replacing the driving-wheel of a motor-truck comprises a frame 5 mounted on the rear axle casing and connected to the vehicle frame by a pivoted thrust member 7. The frame is forked to carry the driving-sprocket 6, which is driven from the axle 4 by a chain passing round sprockets 17, 18. The track passes round the driving-sprocket 6 and an idler 15, which is fitted with a rubber tyre 16<1>, and is adjustably mounted in an extension of a roller truck frame 12 pivoted at 16 to the frame 5. The driving-sprocket is fitted with a band brake operated by a lever 22 through the usual connexions from the driver's seat.
