Dynamometers, rotary absorption.-In fluidfriction dynamometers of the Froude type, as described in Specification 24,949/10, the range of indication may be suddenly increased by simultaneouslyoperating the water inlet and outlet valves in order to deal with overloads or underloads on the prime mover. This is effected by moving a hand-lever E mounted on the framework and connected by linkage with the inlet and outlet valves A, B.
