Rope grips.-A cam grip for use in safety suspending mechanism for lifts &c., comprises back and front plates H, H<1> and a spacing-block I with rounded ends, the cam G' being pivoted between the plates and adapted to bind the rope J against the block I, which is sunk into the plates H, H<1> in order to reduce the strain on the connecting rivets or bolts.
