2715. Welin, A. Feb. 2. Pulley - blocks. - In multiple-sheave pulleyblocks, some of the sheaves of the lower block are arranged eccentric to the others so as to prevent the suspended block from toppling over when being raised under no load. The upper block is sometimes provided with eccentric sheaves. The rope must be so rove that the fastest moving parts of it pass over the upper sheaves. In the form shown in Fig. I, the sheaves 2, 5 are set eccentrically to the o t h e r sheaves. The rope which is fastened to the top block passes over the sheaves 4, 1, 6, 3, 5, 2 to the power.
