Abstract

26,663. Newhouse, W. A., and Knutton, H. J. Nov. 16. Knobs.-A spring button, for hiding countersunk screws in furniture, consists of a sheetmetal stamping provided with a stem having a series of saw-cuts. The stem enters and clips into the hole or over the head of the screw. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the button a has the stem b provided with saw-cuts c, and is shown pressing against the head of the bolt d, but the stem may also be made to press outwards against the inside of the socket. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, a washer h is used to enable the rib to snap under the head of the bolt.
