Abstract

235,666. Hodgetts, R., and Hodgetts, S. March 28, 1924. Knobs. - A door knob 1 has a hole 2 centrally drilled ex. tending partly therethrough into which is driven a screwthreaded spindle 3 having radial projections 4 stamped on it to bite into the inner surface of the hole to prevent movement between the knob and spindle. A washer 5 on the screw threaded portion of the spindle bears against a projection 4 and forms the bearing surface for a tubular pressing tool. A cup-shaped member 6 with a hole in its base passes over the spindle 3 when driven into the knob and engages with the washer 5; the edge 7 of the member 6 is spua over a flange 8 formed on the knob.
