Abstract

Knobs, attaching.-A knob is provided with a gripping-plate f, the lower edge of which is fulcrumed in the knob, being disposed in a recess formed by a projection b <2>. The plate automatically takes and normally occupies an inclined position, preferably under the action of a light spring g. When the knob is applied to the spindle c so that the spindle passes through a suitably - shaped aperture in the plate, the plate yields, but withdrawal of the knob is prevented by the automatic gripping action of the upper and lower edges of the hole upon the spindle. A rose d, forming a bearing for the knob, may conceal the plate f, and is provided with a hole d<2> so that when the rose is brought into a suitable position, the plate may be pushed back by a bradawl or the like, to allow the knob to be removed.
