Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical springs.-An outer rigid tread ring E of channel section bears on a circumferential helical spring A held by bolts D or otherwise in a channel rim B, and its sides slide against the sides of the wheel rim. The wheel rim may have pins or the like e<1> which project into slots in the outer rim B to prevent creeping, or both rims may have interengaging flanged edges. Two or more springs side by side may be used'for broad wheels. The outer rim E may comprise sections joined together.
