Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic, rubber-ring, and like cushions.-A solid or inflatable rubber cushion 8, Figs. 3 and 4, fixed by cement or otherwise in an outer inverted channel rim 1 rests upon the wheel body, which has an integral flange 11 and a detachable plate 6. Projections 12 on the cushion enter recesses in the wheel body. In the form shown in Figs. 5 and 6, a flanged rail rim 14 of inverted channel form is made in two semicircular parts bolted together at their ends 16 so as to enclose a solid rubber cushion 18 and overlap the wheel body. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 20,394/94, 24,912/95, 20,341/09, and 8610/12.
