Spring wheels.-An outer rigid rim 13 is supported upon two pneumatic cushions 17, 18, extending to the nave 3 and arranged on each side of a disk 5 which engages a groove 16 in the rim to provide lateral stability. The disk is of bell-shaped section and is carried by the nave 3 which is secured to the axle-box 1 by bolts 4 so as to be easily detachable. The leather or india-rubber cushion covers 9, 10, are formed with beaded edges held between integral and detachable flanges 6, 7,11, and 12. The groove 16 is formed by two angle-irons 15.
