Abstract

3256. Clark, W. Feb. 10. Lay-figure stands.-A costume stand or bust a is provided with a tubular fabric skirt j which is distended at the bottom by a detachable wire ring and also by folding radial struts k, the skirt being adapted to be folded away, when not in use, either within the lower portion of the bust a or surrounding the bust. A base-board b in the bust a is pierced to allow a square column c to telescope within the bust, a pair of spring levers e engaging the column c and holding the tubular fabric skirt j distended. A board f at the bottom of the column c carries the struts k which are slitted at their outer ends to engage the wire ring secured to the bottom of the tubular skirt. A pair of spring levers g pivoted to the board f are adapted to engage grooves h in the supporting-stem h<1> to hold the bust in any position.
