Abstract

2426. Baldwin, W. J. Jan. 31. Separators for gaseous substances.-In centrifugal apparatus for separating dust, smoke &c. from air &c. by throwing it by means of a fan against a perforated screen and removing the air that does not pass through, the air is moistened by a water spray before being thrown against the screen, and the air that passes through the screen is returned to the apparatus for further treatment. Air enters the apparatus by the pipe a and is thrown by the fan C against the screen E, water being introduced by the pipe G. The air passing through the screen passes behind the baffle h to the passage I, which returns it to the inlet a or it may be drawn off by the pipe K.
