Axial - flow type; regulating; working-fluid supply.- A turbine comprises an impulse wheel b, Fig. 1, of large diameter and a reactionbladed drum a of small diameter. High-pressure steam passes by way of a valve f to the wheel band afterwards acts upon the reaction turbine a in conjunction with lowpressure steam admitted by way of a valve g to a port e. These valves f, g, Fig. 2, are actuated by a lever h, fulcrumed at j and controlled by a governor i. The low-pressure valve g is directly connected to the lever h, the length of stem being adjusted bv a screw s. A spring r allows the valve g to have a slight lead. The valve f has a spindle k connected to a lever l fulcrumed at m. The opposite end of the lever l is operated by stops n, o on the lever h, the latter being adjustable. By regulating the screw s and the stop o, highpressure or low-pressure steam only may be used, or both may be used in varying proportions.
