Abstract

17,982. Boswell, W. C. Aug. 4. Spindle apparatus. - A spring bobbin-carrier for a mule-spindle carries a notched disk, which, when the faller is depressed by hand on the completion of the cop, engages the yarn .and carries it against a severing-device and grips the loose end in a clamping-plate, from which it is released when the mule is re-started. The bobbin-carrier comprises spring clips 3, and carries a notched disk 6 which co-operates with a spring-pressed clamping-piece 7, which is provided with a notch to cut the thread and with a recess at the back to allow the clamped thread to drop out when the mule is re-started. The edge of the clamping-piece is extended so as to form a guard around the disk.
