Tread bands, projections, and surfaces tyre attachments to rims. - In non-skid devices of the type in which chains or like tread members are arranged across the tyre, the tread members C are free to circulate automatically through guides attached to the side holding-members. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the guides D, attached to floating side rings E, are arranged so that each tread member C is in the form of a rectangle; in modifications of this form, the tread members may be in the form of trapezoids, - triangles, or polygons, or one continuous tread member may be passed through the guides so as to cross from side to side of the tyre in zigzag form. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the guides D', arranged on each side of the tyre so as to give rectangular form to the tread members, are secured by chains E' to the spokes of the wheel.
