Pivoted sliding windows.-In windows of the type having sashes supported on pivots on sliding stiles engaging bayonet-slotted bearings on the sashes so that the sashes are removable from the frame, the sliding stiles are locked to the sashes or to the frame by a catch g, pivoted to the sliding stile, normally engaging a slot h in the sash stile, and having a spur i which may be turned to engage a recess k in the pulley stile when the sashes are removed. The pivots e are of triangular crosssection, and the slotted bearings f are formed with corresponding notches to engage the pivots.
