Fastenings for sliding windows.-A fastener for window sashes, sliding shutters, &c. comprises a bolt d mounted in a pivoted or fixed casing f on the bottom sash &c. and adapted to engage at either end e, i with racks b, m on the upper sash and frame respectively. This engagement may be by plain or tapped holes or by slots, and is such as to permit adjustment of either sash, in one form the bolt having a screw engagement with the casing f.
