Sashes balanced by weighted racks and pinions.- Relates to windows having sashes balanced by weighted racks h<1> and pinions e, which engage the weighted racks and racks d on the edges of the sash stiles. The weighted racks h<1> and the pinions e are mounted in a metal box g which extends the full height of the window and is adapted to be inserted in the frame pockets. The sashes are locked in any position by a lever engaging the teeth of the pinions e.
