Pivoted sliding windows.-In windows having sashes removably pivoted in sliding stiles, rabbeted sashes a, b are locked to rabbeted sliding stiles d, e by pivoted catches f on the sliding stiles engaging with recesses a<1>, b<1> in the sashes, the frame being formed with recesses i to allow the catches to be turned back. The sliding stiles are locked, when the sashes are turned down, by pins or bolts g passing through the frame and holes d<1>, e<1>, in the sliding stiles. The sashes and sliding stiles are rabbeted.
