Planes, construction and arrangement of; steering.-Each of the supporting-surfaces a, a<1> of an aeroplane machine is divided into two sections b, c, b<1>, c<1> and each section is rotatably mounted on an axis inclined to the supporting - surface. The inner sections b, b<1> are mounted on axes g, g<1> converging upwards in a plane transverse of the machine, and the outer sections c, c<1> are pivoted on axes h, h<1> inclined upwards and rearwards and mounted on the frame rods d, d<1> of the sections b, b<1>. The planes a, a' are moved forwards or rearwards simultaneously to vary the relation between the centre of gravity and the centre of pressure by a cord j, passing over pulleys k on the axes g, g<1> and around the spindle of a band-wheel n. The machine is steered by moving rearwards one of the outer sections c, c' by means of a cord p, the other section being moved forwards by a cord o connecting the sections. The cords o, pare attached to the sections c, c<1> at the front and rear of the pivots h, h<1> respectively.
