Abstract
7349. Roche, E. March 27. Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement of; steering and balancing.-An aerial machine comprises a forward triangular plane a pivoted to the frame c for vertical steering, a fixed plane e, and a rear adjustable plane j, for ensuring stability, pivoted to a frame h<1>, which is hinged in turn to the plane e. The planes a, e are provided with keel planes d, f, and a vertical rudder g is hinged to the plane f. The rear plane j is adapted to be rotated in its own plane about the pivot i on the frame h<1>, and its horizontal inclination can be varied by turning the frame h<1> relatively to the plane e. The plane j is guided in its movement about the pivot i by guides k, which embrace the frame h<1>. In a modification, the plane j is arranged to turn about its horizontal axis by means of the pivot n, Fig. 7, passing through the frame h<1>.
