Abstract

744. Jones, T. B. Jan. 12. Hooks, safety. - A hook for use with an auxiliary handle for an invalid chair, such as is described in Specification 22,083/05, [Class 52, Furniture &c.], and applicable also to other purposes, is closed by a lever 4 pivoted at 5 in a slot 6 in the shank of the hook. The longer end of the lever engages a slot 8 in the arm 3 of the hook or a projection at the end of the arm, and the shorter end projects through the slot 6, enabling the lever to be operated by the thumb. The lever falls into the closed position by gravity or by means of a spring 9.
